Today I sat down at my studio table with no idea what I was going to create. I wanted to be loose and relaxed and worry too much about the outcome. I knew I wanted to play with colour, texture and patterns. I used several mediums so as not to be restrictive. I initially felt, fear , confusion and self judgement, always so easy for an artist to be overly hard on themselves. As I started to paint the layers of analytical judgement fell away and the fun began. I wanted to learn about my mediums and the best way is to play. So being an artist is not always about making "good art". Sometimes it is about releasing expectation and letting the brush take you where it will.
