Step by Step Watercolour Pet Portrait "Molly"

Start with a photograph. I cropped it so the painting would focus in the face of the dog.

I did a pencil sketch and them did a light wash of blue, yellow. I let the paper dry completely before adding the masking fluid.

I blocked in the green background and the first layer in the iris.

Add the first layer of shadows in the fur

Next layer of details and shadow

Darkened the background and and removed the masking fluid
