The Birth of a Watercolour Portrait

Portraits can be a bit  intimidating but the trick is to study the shapes of the features and get comfortable with drawing them. Once you start painting it is important to not be afraid to go darker in the skin tones because once you add the background. I found it helpful to practice on a scrap of paper before putting in on the original. I really enjoyed this particular painting as it was of my son.
