Francis King Park

Francis King Park is a very special place that I would go weekly with my son to hike when he was a small child. My son is grown now but it is still the place we gravitate to when we need a get away and get a hit of big trees and fresh air. This park is not far away from Victoria so easy to get too. We recently spent the day there together and got lost for hours ( a fun lost).  I painted two paintings to commemorate  our day there together. I love how a paintings have deeper meaning than a photograph for me. During the process of painting these two paintings I was remembering the good moments we had spending a day together and not worrying about time or obligations. Nature has that deep effect on me and it reminds me to breath and focus on what is important. Here are the two paintings. If you ever get a chance to visit Victoria I suggest taking time to explore this magical place. Also it is Wheelchair friendly.

Watermedia Abstract

Living in Victoria the land of second hand book stores I found a treasure in one of the bookstores in Sydney a small town close by. It was called"Creative Discoveries in Watermedia by Pat Dews. It gave great examples and ideas for exploring abstract painting using watercolours. I could not wait to open it and made sure that my partner did not put it in the trunk of the car so I could peruse it while he drove back home. I was very inspired and had to paint two painting immediately that weekend. I recommend purchasing books the inspire you . This book really spoke to me.
This is what I created and I had so much fun exploring that I am going to continue to paint a series of abstracts.
