China Beach Revisited

I am starting to explore more with an abstract/impressionism approach to my work. I have done two paintings of "China Beach", one of our favourite places to go in the summer. It is a quiet, yet wild beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island. I seem to keep painting this image because I want to relive the feeling I have when I am there. Even though we are in a tent, I sleep like a baby both on the beach and in the tent. It has become tradition to visit this beautiful place every summer,

Pet Portraits

As I am an animal person, I really enjoy painting pet portraits. I love it especially when I am able to catch and animals personality and body language. I like it when the pictures speaks to me in what the animal might say with its eyes. I find the eyes the biggest challenge. Here are a few examples of some of the dogs I have had sit for me. (ha ha).
