Creativity Book Reveiw

I have just finished this great little book. It was very very refreshing approach to creativity and artistic expression. Basically Austin says that there is no such thing as an original idea. That every piece of art or music  is a remake with an individual twist. This book is for anyone that is exploring with  creative ideas and life. He has some great tips and it is a quick read. Thumbs up!

The Birth of a Painting ( it is the small that inspire

When in doubt paint fruit. We were doing our weekly shopping this weekend and my sweety bought three very pretty red pears. I was inspired by the number of pears and by there rich deep red with hints of green. I set up a very simple still life and then took many photos of the red trio.

Here is the photo I chose.
I chose this photo because I found the placement pleasing to the eye. I did not like all the reds and browns together so in typical artist fashion I decided to change the back ground while keeping the original colours of the pears.

Here is the end result!

This is one of my first series using negative space painting. I really enjoy the ethereal, dream like quality that these paintings portray.
